| Miva Merchant Conference 2008
We attended the 2008 Miva Merchant Conference in San Diego, California to meet the new owners of the Miva Merchant Company, the Miva Merchant staff and to learn about the new Miva Merchant version 5.5 and It was the best decision we have ever made. The new owners and the Miva Merchant staff were very open to letting us know exactly what their plans are for now and in foreseeable future. I have done my best to outline what we learned about the new Miva Merchant version 5.5 release, the owners of Miva Merchant, and the new services and modules that will be available in 2008.
Miva Merchant 5.5 Information
Version 5.5 will be rolled out through the upgrade wizard in the Miva Merchant administrator just like the upgrades that merchants have been doing for MM5 all along. The upgrades are free and will be integrated into Miva seamlessly. Miva Merchant will be releasing the upgrades in quarters throughout 2008. They are no releasing all of the new functionality at once. Miva Merchant explains that many of the new features are things that should have been on in Miva Merchant 5 to begin with. Some of the features that will be implemented are going to be functionality that you may have already installed a module for but Miva Merchant promises that the functionality of your present add-on modules will not be affected. There will be a new look and feel to the administrator which is going to make it easier to navigate through the administrator but according to them if you already know how to do something in the current Administrator then that will not change and you will still be able to do it that way.
Here are some of the features that were talked about. This is not an absolute definate full feature list for Miva Merchant 5.5 or a complete list but these new features were discussed by Rick Wilson.
