Limited Miva Admin Access

March 24, 2009

You can restrict the permissions for a Miva Merchant administrative user.

To limit access to the Miva admin you must first create a Miva Merchant administrative user.  Then you create a group with the permissions that you would like that particular user to have. Then you simply add that user to the group. It is simple and only takes a minute to setup. You can find detailed instructions on setting up limited access in the “How To” section of this blog.

A good example of when this type of access would be appropriate is if you wanted to give access to the admin for someone to print orders the new orders but you do not want to allow them to change any of the payment or shipping settings.  Limiting access to “order processing” would do precisely that.

Remember to login with the new users credentials to test that is functions properly and has exactly the limitations you intended.
