Why should I upgrade from Miva Merchant 4 to the latest version of Miva Merchant 5?
Technology has changed since the earlier versions of Miva Merchant. For instance Miva can now run on a MySQL database which is faster and more reliable than the MM4 MivaSQL database. Miva Merchant has also implemented the new (SMT) Store Morph Technology. SMT makes it so you can fully implement your website layout, look, and feel into your Miva Merchant store. Many of the previous Miva Merchant modules that needed to purchased are now included out of the box as well. Such as SEO short links, SEO Meta tags and dynamic sitemap creation. Another great feature that the new version of Miva has is “Version Histories”. That means when you can go back to a previous version of the display you are working on. For instance, if you accidentally overwrite your global header with your category header information you can recall your global header by time and date and correct your mistake in seconds (you will utilize this feature). This is a great development tool especially if your development technique is the old trial and error way. The new Miva Admin is also much simpler and common sense than it used to be.
